MIA Information extracted from PowNetWork.Org   Ensigh Hollingsworth was serving as co-pilot of an RA5C Vigilante aircraft assigned to ReconnaissanceAttack Squadron 9 onboard the aircraft carried USS Ranger (CVA-61). On 16 Jan 1966 the two man aircraft was launched from the carrier on a routine mission. While airboarne the aircraft suffered mechanical difficulties and crashed at sea. At the time the USS Ranger was stationed about 75-100 miles off the coast of South Vietnam. No bodies were recovered. More information on this event at PowNetWork.Org

Lewiston Marine Killed in Combat at Da Nang
    Lewiston ID (AP) -- Lance Corporal William D. Hepburn, 18, a Lewiston Marine, was killed in action Wednesday near Da Nang, South Viet Nam. Notification of his death was received Friday by his parents, Mrs. Peggy Hepburn, and Barton Hepburn both of Lewiston.
    Hepburn, who had been in action, in South Viet Nam since January was a member of the second battalion of the thirds Marine Division. He enlisted in the corps at Lewiston, 5 Feb 1965. He was due to return to the United States in October. Hepburn was born 27 Dec 1947 at Omak WA and moved to Lewiston at the age of six months. He attended Lewiston High School before enlisting in the Marines. (Spokane Review, Spokane WA, 30 Mar 1966 )
