Naples Marine Dies in Vietnam Action
    Mr. and Mrs. Robert Hansen of Naples were notified Wednesday that their son, Lance Corporal Robert Warren Hansen, 20, was killed in action May 10, 1969 while serving with the Marine corps in Vietnam.
    Notification was received from Gen. Leonard F. Chapman Jr., Marine corps commandant, who stated that Hansen sustained multiple fragmentary wounds from hostile mortar fire while manning a defense position. The action occurred in the Cam Lo Tri province of Vietnam.
    Additional details were not immediately available, but it was stated that the body will be sent to Portland and burial reportedly will be in the Willamette National cemetery there.
    Hansen's parents have resided in the Naples area about 15 years, and he attended grade school there, then graduated from Bonners Ferry high school in 1965. He entered the Marine corps about 18 months ago and had been on duty in Vietnam since last fall, having visited relatives and friends here on furlough prior to leaving for overseas duty.
    Survivors include his parents, a brother, Kenneth, a high school senior, and two sisters, Patty, a freshman at BFHS, and Mrs. Mike (Susan) Larson, Spokane.
    Cpl. Hansen is the first Boundary county serviceman who has been killed in the Vietnam war, whose residence was still listed as in the county. unknown newspaper Thank you, Ellie Grover, researcher
