| Lt. Peterson, Ephrata, Killed in Vietnam Lt. William J. Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Peterson of Ephrata, was killed in Vietnam on May 19 (1969) in the battle for Hamburger Hill. Lt. Peterson was graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane, and from Gonzaga University.

He was graduated from Curlew High School in 1963. He lived in Wilson Creek for three years and attended Big Bend College.
