Lt. Peterson, Ephrata, Killed in Vietnam Lt. William J. Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Philip Peterson of Ephrata, was killed in Vietnam on May 19 (1969) in the battle for Hamburger Hill. Lt. Peterson was graduated from Lewis and Clark High School in Spokane, and from Gonzaga University.

Sgt. Stan Carter, son of Mr. and Mrs. Roy Carter, of 140 Schilling Drive, Moses Lake, formerly of Ephrata, has died of combat wounds in Vietnam. The family received official announcement Thursday morning. Sgt. Carter, an Army mortar man, had been in Vietnam five months.

Sp 4 Glen R. Branhill, 23, of Packwood, a member of a longtime Wenatchee family was killed in Vietnam conflict 21 Jan 1968. He was born in Prosser, 18 Sep 1944. He was graduated from Curlew High School in 1963. He lived in Wilson Creek for three years and attended Big Bend College.
