This information extracted from Pownetwork.org   On 4 Nov 66 William B. Hunt was serving as a replacement platoon Leader III CTZ Mike Force (Detachment A-302), 5th Special Forces Group. He was a passenger on a helicopter which was sent to conduct a medevac for an American lead company that had suffered heavy losses. At a landing zone NE of Soui Dan, 10 miles from Dau Tieng, Hunt voluntarily left the the aircraft to help reinforce the remaining troops on the ground and the helicopter left with the wounded. The Viet Cong over ran the position. While carrying the company commander to safety, Hunt himself was seriously wounded by a bulled that hit him in the shoulder, penetrated his upper back and exited his side. Hunt succeeded in moving the commander to a protected area before they both passed out from loss of blood. Later, having regained consciousness, the two men joined by two ARVN crawled towards the landing zone for extraction. Hunt's condition had deterioted and he urged the commander and the 2 ARVN to proceed without him. They were evacuated. A Nung soldier had stayed behind with Hunt and it was the Nung soldier who reported that Hunt had died. But when searches were made to recover Hunt's body, it was not found. A Remembrance for my baby brother
Michael Lee Crouson was born 6Dec44 in Cairo, IL, 4th son of Harry Marshal Crouson and Margaret Bell Ferguson Crouson.

In October 1966 he landed in Vietnam. He was an M60 machine gunner with 3rd Platoon, Mike Company, 3rd Battalion, 3rd Marine Regiment, 3rd Marine Division.
