Local Soldier Killed in Viet
Sp. 4 Bobby G. Peterson, son of Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth L. Peterson, 445 4th St., died in South Vietnam 27 Jul (1967) of wounds sustained while at base camp after enemy mortar attack, it was announced Saturday by the U.S. Army Adjutant General. The young man was born 23 Jul 1947 at Nampa. He attended high school in Sonoma CA. Survivors include his parents; three sisters, Mrs. Larry (Janet) Emmons of Salem OR; Darlene and Roxanna Peterson; and a brother, Dale; this grandmothers, Mrs. Florence Peterson of Nampa and Mrs. Frances Fullerton of Caldwell; and a great-grandmother, Mrs. Louella Fullerton, Boise. the young war veteran had been scheduled to return home 17 Dec (1967) following his overseas tour of duty. I.F. Soldier Dies in Japan
Word was received Monday by Mr. and Mrs. Arthur J. Martin, 1569 Casseopia Ave., that their son Spec. 4 Arthur J. Martin, U.S. Army, died of combat wounds received in Vietnam. Spec. Martin, who was wounded by shrapnel on 4 Sep (1967) had sent to the 249th General Hospital, Japan. Martin entered the service 6 Oct 1966, and went overseas 17 Mar 1967. He was a 1963 graduate of Burley High School and graduated from Idaho State University, T and T school in 1965. Besides his parents, he is survived by a brother, Tom, attending the University of Idaho; a sister, Sharon, of Idaho Falls; a son, Scott, and a daughter, Corinne, of Burley. Also surviving are maternal and paternal grandparents. Funeral services are pending at the Payne Mortuary, Burley. (Idaho Falls, Idaho, Post-Register, Wednesday, 18 Oct 1967)(

Jimmy Lee Ward Caldwell
    Funeral services for Marine Pvt. First Class Jimmy Lee Ward, 20, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday at the Flahiff Funeral Chapel here. Pfc. Ward, son of Mr. and Mrs. Hardy Ward of 2607 Montana St., Caldwell, was killed in the Vietnam war Nov. 30 (1967) in the vicinity of Quang Tri.
    Full military honors will be furnished by personnel from Mountain Home Air Force Base and from the Marine Corps headquarters in Boise.
    Interment will be a Hillcrest Memorial Gardens.
    Pfc. Ward was born May 1, 1947, in Nampa, and had lived all of his life in Canyon County before joining the Marines. He attended school in Caldwell and at Vallivue High School. He also served with the National Guard unit before entering the regular service.
    In addition to his parents, of Calwell, he is survived by two sisters, Mrs. Pamela Price of Nampa and Mrs. Sandra Fivecoat of Caldwell; his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. B. W. Ward and Mr. and Mrs. J. C. Little, all of Nampa; and a great-grandmother, Mrs. Lena Harper of Nampa. Unknown newspaper Thank you, Ellie Grover, Researcher
