Caldwell Soldier Dies in Vietnam Engagement
      Caldwell (UPI) - Army Pfc. Thomas A. Foreman, 20, Caldwell, has died in action in South Vietnam. Born in Caldwell and a graduate of Caldwell High School, Foreman left the United States for the war zone last 20 Oct (1968). He was killed while fighting with an infantry unit.
      Following his graduation from high school, he attended Boise State College for 1 1/2 hears before going into the service last May. He was trained at Ft Lewis WA and last August he married Wendy Elliott, Caldwell.
      Survivors include his widow, his mother, a brother and a sister. (The News-Tribune, Caldwell ID, Friday, 24 Jan 1969)

I.F. Soldier Killed In Viet
      Cpl. John Alex Boyle, 18, died from a wound received in a combat operation when engaged by a hostile force in Vietnam on 26 Jan (1969) He was the son of John E. Boyle, 295 Balsam Circle, assistant electrical inspector with the building department of Idaho Falls. He was born 15 Feb 1950 at Twin Falls, the son of John E. and Phyllis Lucille Jewitt Boyle. They lived in Hailey until coming to Idaho Falls in 1964. He was graduated from Skyline High School in 1968. He was active in track in school and also had worked as a projectionist at a local theatre. He was active in the Police Association League. He entered the U.S. Army 12 Jul 1968 and left for Vietnam 7 Dec (1968) His mother died in February of 1968. He is survived by his father. Funeral services will be announced later by the Wood Funeral Home. (Post-Register, Idaho Falls ID, 29 Jan 1969)

County Soldier Slain in Vietnam
      Caldwell - A 22-year-old Caldwell Route 1 soldier, Spec. 4 Glen Lawrence Atkinson, was killed Monday in Action in Vietnam.
      The Defense Department notified his mother, Mrs. Mary A. Atkinson of the soldier's death. Word was received Wednesday while Mrs. Atkinson was at work as an appraisal computer in the Canyon County assessor's office.
      The war victim's brother, James Roy Atkinson is at home in the Middleton area awaiting a medical discharge after being injured April 7 while serving with the 1st Infantry Division in Vietnam.
      Spec. 4 Atkinson's father, Roy Atkinson, died 4 Sep 1955.
      the young man was born 24 Oct 1946 in Woods Cross UT. The family moved to the Purple Sage Community north of Middleton when Glen was four years of age. He was graduated from Middleton High School in 1965 where he was a member of MHS chapter of the Future Farmers of America.
      Prior to serving a two-year Southern States Mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, young Atkinson worked for an uncle on a farm near Burley.
      He entered the service in the Army 14 Feb 1968. He received training at Fort Lewis WA and was sent overseas 9 Jul (1968) with the 25th Infantry Division.
      Survivors, in addition to his mother and brother, James, are a brother, Floyd, at home, three sisters, Ilean, a junior at Brigham Young University, Provo UT and Elrain and Cathy, both at home, grandparents, Mrs. Elsie Atkinson Hixon, Salt Lake City, and Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Anderson, Clearfield UT.
      Further information on the circumstances of spec. 4 Atkinson's death was not available. Funeral services will be announced later. (The News-Tribune, Caldwell ID, Thursday, 6 Feb 1969)
