Wounds Kill T.F. Marine in Vietnam
A 19-year-old Twin Falls Marine died Saturday of fragmentation wounds while maintaining a defensive position north of First Support Base Elliot in Quang Tri Province, Vietnam. Mr. and Mrs. Wendel T. Aslett were notified by telegram of the death of their son, Pfc. Allen T. Aslett, who had been in the Marine Corps for one year. He enlisted in the Marines last October and had been in Vietnam since July. He was born 25 Jul 1950, in Twin Falls, and had graduated from Twin Falls High School in 1968. He was a member of the Boy Scouts of America and the Civil Air Patrol. Surviving, besides his parents, are four brothers, Robert Aslett, Seattle; Lyne Aslett, serving with the Navy, and Jerry Aslett and John Aslett, both Twin Falls, and his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Theo Aslett, Twin Falls. Funeral services will be announced by White Mortuary. (Times News, Twin Falls ID, Tuesday, 30 Sep 1969)
