Posthumous Medals Given Cpl. Jeffrey B. Uhren, a Billings MT, track star and the son of a Spokane man, has been awarded posthumously three more medals for service in Vietnam. His father, Bernard H. Uhren, N20 Madison, said he has received the three new honors along with five presented before the soldier's death 1 Oct (1968). Medals received are two Purple Hearts, Bronze Star, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Ribbon and the Marksmanship Badge with automatic rifle bars. Uhren won the Montana high jump championship in 1965 and played basketball for Billings Senior High School. He entered the service in Montana and then his father moved to Spokane.
