Viet Ambush Kills Marine From Lowell
    Lowell - Funeral arrangements are pending at Buell Chapel, Springfield, for the son of a Lowell couple killed in Vietnam. He is Marine Lance Cpl. Stephen Fry, 19, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Fry of Lowell.
    Fry was killed 12 Apr (1969) by rifle fire when his squad was ambushed by the enemy southwest of Da Nang, his family was notified early this week.
    Fry attended high school at Citrus Heights CA. His parents moved to Lowell a year ago, and Fry visited their new home once during a military leave.
    He is survived by his parents, two brothers and an uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. William Fry, who live on Fall Creek Road in the Lowell area. (Eugene Register-Guard, Eugene OR, 17 Apr 1969)

Eugene Army Copter Pilot Killed in Vietnam Collision
    A 23-year-old U.S. Army helicopter pilot from Eugene has become the 53rd Emerald Empire victim of the Vietnam war.
    Dead is 1st Lt. Peter Clark Little, son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert K. Little, 758 Norkenzie Road. He was killed last Wednesday when the helicopter he was flying collided with another aircraft, crashed and burned, according to the Army.
    His wife, Virginia, has been living with her parents in Abilene TX, since Little went to Vietnam in February.
    Little was born 30 Aug 1945 in Eugene and graduated from North Eugene High School in 1963. Little attended Oregon State University until 1966, when he was drafted. Following Army OCS and flight training, he was assigned to the 3rd Air Cavalry in Vietnam in February 1969.
    Besides his parents and his wife, Little is survived by a brother, David; and grandparents Mr. and Mrs. Percy K. Little, all of Eugene.
    Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Poole-Larsen Chapel in Eugene. (Eugene Register-Guard, Eugene OR, 20Apr 1969)
