FACES FROM THE WALL OREGON and the VIETNAM WAR INDEX OF NAMES Oregon lost over 710 (official National Archive count) men in the Vietnam War. When the men joined the service they put down their town of record.... which wasn't always their hometowns. So Oregon's final count will be higher. Much higher as the Willamette National Cemetery, Portland Oregon is the final resting place for over 214 men who died in service in Vietnam, some from other states including Montana, Idaho, California, Utah, Nevada, Hawaii, ... and I've included them in this presentation. The goal is this project is to "place faces to the names of the 710 plus Oregon men whose names are on the Vietnam Memorial Wall. I am using yearbook pictures, snapshots, military portraits, obituaries, and remembrances to commemorate the lives of these men. The Oregon project was begun November 2003, the 1st year anniversary of Faces From the Wall - Washington State. It will eventually become a stand alone project... It is a work in progress... 8 years and still working on it. A search engine is below for your convenience. If you wish to help with pictures, obituaries, or remembrances... email me Darilee Bednar
